Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Clean work area. Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Carpenter Trade Certification. Personal protective equipment (PPE) training. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Reliability. Team player. Values and ethics.
